Repair. Paint. Restore.
The process of cleaning and refinishing 25 year old shingles included extensive scraping and power washing. Scaffolding allowed us to replace all window trim and flashing.


Scaffolding was eventually required to complete carpentry repairs and staining/painting.




Butyl flashing tape (bituthene or zip tape) applied to the rough openings prior to air barrier.


Window Restoration & Wood Rot
If you decide to poke and prod at the exterior of an antique house (1780) be prepared for some fun.
Discovery & Repair
Straightforward drywall repairs lead to discovering water damage from a previous roof leak requiring wall probes and floor framing probes; ultimately leading to foundation repairs and extensive capital improvements.

Demolition of all items including 3" of layered subfloor, and existing rotted floor joists.

Tuck pointing the foundation will lock together the field stone and help resist any movement. Previous mortar work was not present.

Chipping paint was removed and brought down to plaster. The house fan was replaced with an access panel installed with new trim.

Two layers of wall paper were discovered and removed down to plaster.

Walls, ceiling, window casing, and baseboards. Owner completed the wallpaper.

The second floor hall and stairway was given an update. We discovered old wall paper and several layers of antique paint.
Insulation & Vapor Barrier
The process of refinishing 25 year old shingles included extensive scraping and power washing. Erecting scaffolding allowed us to replace all window trim and existing window flashing.

Subsequent to tuck pointing the foundation a 6mil vapor barrier was spray applied and then stapled.
